A new friend

Starting Monday Nov. 10 we have a new friend joining our daycare family. He is sooo cute and such a good baby. He is almost 3 months old. His older brother will be joining us on days off of school and during the summer. I will include pictures when I get my camera back. Our girl/boy numbers are changing again. Finally the girls were starting to bring their numbers up. We are at 3 girls and 5-6 boys.

Smiling faces

I had to add a few pictures of the kids. I love the smiling faces! The babies are starting to play together, or atleast think the other is pretty cool! The babies are awake when the other kids are down for their nap, so we come upstairs and play with toys. They get some one on one time with me and I get some baby time!

A new letter and color

Oct. 13, 2008 we started a new letter and color. We will continue to work on this one until Oct. 24, 2008. We are working on letter "D" and the color Orange.
The kids are still loving calendar time and they are doing great at learning sign language for the letters. Wed. Oct. 15 we have our visitor from the library again. She will come and read stories and bring her puppets. It was a lot of fun last month. In the coming weeks, we will be working on Halloween decorations and we will have a Halloween party. We will decorate cookies, have snacks and trick or treat with our friends here. It is not necessary, but each child may bring a treat to pass out when we are trick or treating.
The weather is getting chilly, so remember those hats and gloves. We do go outside each day weather permitting, so I want to make sure they are warm.

Boys, Bubbles and Balls

Sometimes the simplest things can keep a child entertained for a long time. I find that true with bubbles and balls. the kids love blowing bubbles and could do it for hours, except for the fact that they spill more out than they blow. Balls, they love them! Whether it is throwing them or kicking them or rolling them around. Everyone loves playing with balls. None of us like all the bugs outside. I am ready for them all to go away.
Pretty girl just chillin. The boys blowing bubbles. There are bubbles in this picture.

Where did our summer go?

As summer goes away, I notice the warmer jackets being brought for the kids. Soon, it will be snow pants, boots, hats and gloves. YUCK!! Monday was a beautiful day, so we took advantage of it and went outside at 2:30 and we were outside until most of the kids were picked up at 5:00. We took a walk, went to the park and played in the back yard. We ate our snack
outside, and the kids had a blast!

Teddy Bear Day!

A close up shot. She wanted the camara.

Wed. Sept. 10, 2008 was national Teddy Bear Day. We had a teddy bear parade and did some teddy bear colors sheets. The kids brought a teddy bear from home. They all had fun and then had a special friend to nap with.
Next week will start our change in letters. We will be learning letter "B" and the color blue. I hope the weather continues to be nice so we can keep going outside, taking trips to the library and parks.
Wed. of next week will start our Storytime to go program. It should be a lot of fun!!

A fun day!

Another week is done, the time seems to fly by so fast. School starts here in a week and a few days. When the older kids go back to school, we start our "school" here. Our weekly learning of letters, numbers, colors and shapes. During the summer I am more lax about the learning and we have more fun. We still do a craft everyday and our calender time and reading. I am including a couple pictures from today. We had spaghetti, fruit and garlic cheese bread for lunch. I am always amazed at how much gets on the kids and not in their mouths. I use big dish towels and wrap them around their waists to catch the food from hitting the floor. It works great! I have been using this trick since my 10 1/2 year old daughter was little.

Our week in review

We had a busy past week. We took a trip to the library, and Friday we went to the Wilkin Co. Fair. It was the smallest fair I have ever seen. I was very disappointed, but the kids loved it and had a great time, so that is all that matters. My sister and her 2 kids joined us for the day. The kids all got to go on 3-4 rides and pick a treat to eat. It was kids day, so they had free hot dogs and juice, and tattoos for the kids. We got to pet some animals and see a ton of different animals. It was extremely hot outside, but the kids did so great waiting for their turns on the rides. I was so proud of each one of them.

Only a few weeks before school starts. Summer has gone by so fast. We will be starting our letter, numbers or colors of the week again. We start our learning again. The pictures you will see are of our trip to the fair, the library and playtime at the park and in the house.

Our field trips this week.

This week, we have taken field trips to the library twice and the dairy queen. We have spent a lot of time outside playing and we have been busy with our crafts. We made 3 foot colored cut outs of each of us, we have done our National Smile Week craft and our National Clown Week crafts. We made hand print tulip paintings also. The kids have had a great week. The kids all look great in their white hats. I have white hats for each child so it is easy to pick them out in a crowd and the sun stays out of their faces.

A look at the daycare

Here are some pictures of the daycare area. We do calender time and story time everyday. I just got a new alphabet chart we will start using next month when we start our letters again. Each child has a hook to hang their belongings on.

I included a picture of lunch time. When we have breakfast food for lunch, the kids love that!!
